2024 - IT consultant at axaz
Untangling complex processes
I was part of a team at Axaz working on helping a large health grocer automate and streamline internal processes.
This time, the team from Axaz consisted of people from the business architecture department. I was signed on to help untangle processes and prototype an application to help their dataflow 🖇️💫
These internal processes were connected to the wares and their prices, which were all sent to various grocery stores and shops with different deals and campaigns. This data was kept track of using a wide array of Excel spreadsheets, which all had various Key stakeholder working inside them 💻🔢. This made keeping track of data tedious, and created alot of manual labor. It also increased the amount of errors, which could result in faulty pricing, and cost the business a lot of money 💸.
On this project, I had a key role as UX designer, as well as dipping my toes into business architecture. I did interviews, workshops and prototyping in Figma🎨.

I worked in the team as an UX designer. I participated and led collaborative workshops and interviews with employees at the company, and worked in FigJam mapping and analyzing results.

About the project
What was the issue?
Excessive amounts of Excel documents made it hard to keep track of data, and resulted in a lot of manual upkeep and handling.
Manual upkeep resulted in more errors, which could be devestating
“Its not a question if were going to make an error, its just a question of when” - Interview subject
Interviews and workshops
As a team we did interviews and collaborative workshops with FigJam. I participated actively, and took a key role in doing the interviews and mapping processes during workshops 👩💻.
Here, we did active workshops, where we mapped out process in real time in Figjam during workshops. This worked really well!
The processes here were complicated. This was a large organization, and these processes were important, yet no one had mapped them out, which was very interesting. The “way of working” existed simply by how some people had always worked, and by word of mouth. So simply mapping out the processes was huge for the company on its own👩💻💫
Analyzing and understanding
After mapping out processes during workshops, we spent time analyzing and mapping out data to create a structured understanding. We worked iteratively with employees at the company to refine and structure our results based on what the customer needed. We also created a plan to improve the structure of processes moving forward.
This involved me creating a prototype for some new, simple applications to help sort and manage data. Here, simplicity was key, while maintaining a easy to understand interface.
As the project is still ongoing, I am unable to share images of the final product. Images are edited to remove private content.
